Pratap Public School, Sector-6 Karnal Organises 28th Annual Athletic Meet

The most elevated meet on the ground for the execution of various sports events is Annual Athletic Meet.

With an intent to fortify the students with sportsmanship and  leadership skills, the school celebrated 28th annual Athletic Meet in the palatial school playground on 1 December, 2023. The event was graced by President Dr. Ajay Bhatia, Vice President Ms. Deepika Bhatia,Secretary Mr Sanjay Bhatia , Joint Secretary Ms Poonam Bhatia ,Director, Students’ Welfare , Mr. Prateek Bhatia, Mrs Chahat Bhatia  and the Chief Guest Mr. Yash Malik(our alumnus who has recently been selected in HCS Executive branch with rank 3). The presence of Dr Rekha Singla, Dr Neelam lamba, Dr. Poonam , Dr Naveen, Dr Ravinder and Dr Satyawan as special guests also graciously dignified the occasion. The event commenced with synchronized parade by NCC cadets, scouts and guides as well as the selected contestants of all the six houses. The elevating torch indicating hope and sustainance was lighted by Mr. Ajay Bhatia which symbolized the formal beginning of the meet.

Pre-Primary students overjoyously partook in special events and races ( Bunny race, Hula Hoop race, Charlie Chaplin race, Pyramid race, Butterfly race, Cricket scrolling the ball race). Energetic and vibratory drill was presented by the students of class UKG.

The event was laced with mesmerizing cultural show interwoven with dance performances showcasing circus show feats, Zoomba dance and foot tapping dance on “Come On, Come On Clap your hands”. Yoga exercises were performed by the students of classes VI and VII.

The playground became alive with 50mt, 100mt, 200mt, 400mt, 800mt races organised for the sprinters of classes VI to XII. Kangaroo Race, Pyramid race, One legged race, Plate race, Bag set up race and Peas Race were momentously run by the students of classes I to III. Back race, Lemon race, Sack race and Skipping race engaged the marathoners of classes IV and V. Classes XI and XII students exhibited their physical endurance in Shot Put. Long jump (classes VII to XII) and high jump( classes IX to XII) were most exciting events.4×100 mt Relay race throbbed the hearts of the racers.

The students who  acclaimed to the Best Athlete Awards  were Sanvi Class VII and Kushal of class VIII in sub- junior category while Ayush and Lakshita of class IX in junior category.Akanksha of class XII Humanities and Ujjwal of class XI Non Medical  clinched the Best Athlete Awards.

The winners were felicitated with certificates and medals  by the Management Committee dignitaries,the Principal,  Dr Puja Waalia Mann and the chief invitees. The meet culminated with the rendition of the national anthem.
