Pratap Public School sector 6, Karnal celebrates Van Mahotsav and Independence Day

Pratap Public School, Sector 6, Karnal, celebrated Van Mahotsav and Independence Day on 13 August, 2026 with great patriotic fervour, cultural splendour and a deep commitment towards environmental responsibility.

The programme commenced with Principal Dr. Puja Waalia Mann extending a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Colonel Deepak Kumar Sharma, Commanding Officer, 7 Haryana NCC Battalion, Karnal, and the esteemed members of the Management Committee, Ms Deepika Bhatia,Vice President; Mr Sanjay Bhatia,Secretary;Ms Poonam Bhatia ,Joint Secretary;Mr Prateek Bhatia,Director Students Welfare; Ms Chahat Bhatia and Mr Dhruv Bhatia whose gracious presence added grandeur to the occasion.

The celebration came alive with a melodious group song reverberating the glory of nation and sensitising audience to the need to protect trees presented by the students of Classes IV and V, followed by a soul stirring dance performance by the Pre-Primary students. The highlight of the event was the powerful dance drama “Independence Day,” which brought alive the courage and sacrifices of Rani Lakshmi Bai, Mangal Pandey and Mahatma Gandhi. Through a captivating blend of dance, drama and music, the students exhibited the valour, resilience and sacrifice of these great patriots.

Addressing the gathering, Colonel Deepak Kumar Sharma delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking address. He instilled a deep sense of patriotism, discipline, courage, responsibility and devotion to the nation in the young learners, urging them to become conscientious citizens and contribute meaningfully to the progress of the country.

The CBSE Art Integrated Projects Exhibition further enriched the celebration, providing a vibrant platform for students to showcase their creativity, aesthetic skills and artistic expression.

The theme of Van Mahotsav 2026, Healing the Earth through Greener Initiatives-was reflected through Sapling Plantation Ceremony, in which the Principal, the Chief Guest and the Management Committee members carried forward the spirit of the ongoing “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” national tree plantation drive , reaffirming the school’s commitment to a greener and sustainable future.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, followed by the National Song and the National Anthem, leaving the gathering filled with pride, patriotism and a renewed sense of responsibility towards the nation and the environment.
