Pratap Public School, Sector 6, Karnal Hosts KARNITI MUN 2026 – Karnal’s First Student-Led Model United Nations Conference

Pratap Public School, Sector 6, Karnal, proudly hosted KARNITI MUN 2026, Karnal’s first student-led Model United Nations Conference, on 4th and 5th July 2026. The prestigious conference brought together around 290 delegates from 15 schools, including the host institution, providing an enriching platform for students to develop leadership, diplomacy, critical thinking, negotiation, and public speaking skills.
The conference was meticulously organised by the Student Secretariat under the able leadership of Yuvraj Arora and Taani Anand. It was held under the visionary guidance of Dr. Puja Waalia, Principal, Pratap Public School, Sector 6, Karnal, whose unwavering support and commitment to holistic education played a pivotal role in making the event a grand success.
The Inaugural Ceremony, held on 4th July 2026, was graced by Sh. Jagmohan Anand, MLA, Karnal, as the Chief Guest, who formally inaugurated the conference by striking the ceremonial gavel, marking the official commencement of KARNITI MUN 2026. The occasion was further honoured by the presence of Smt. Renubala Gupta, Mayor, Karnal, and Smt. Megha Bhandari as the Guests of Honour.
The event was also graced by distinguished members of the school management, including Ms. Dipika Bhatia, Vice-President; Mr. Sanjay Bhatia, Secretary; Ms. Poonam Bhatia, Joint Secretary; Ms. Chahat Bhatia; and Mr. Prateek Bhatia, Director, Students’ Welfare. Principals from several participating schools also visited the campus, adding prestige to the occasion.
The inaugural programme commenced with a graceful Ganpati Vandana presented through a solo dance, invoking divine blessings for the success of the conference. This was followed by an enthralling performance by the School Band, which captivated the audience with soulful Sufi music and rhythmic beats, and a vibrant cultural dance performance that added colour and grandeur to the ceremony.
The conference comprised four committee sessions—two held on 4th July 2026 and two on 5th July 2026—across eight committees. Delegates actively participated in thought-provoking deliberations on contemporary national and international issues, demonstrating exceptional research, diplomacy, analytical thinking, teamwork, and leadership throughout the proceedings.
The Closing Ceremony, held on 5th July 2026, was graced by Mr. Tushar Garg, Advocate-on-Record, Supreme Court of India, a distinguished legal professional and proud alumnus of Pratap Public School, Sector 6, Karnal. His inspiring address motivated the delegates to uphold the values of leadership, integrity, and responsible citizenship.
The programme concluded with a captivating cultural dance, followed by the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where outstanding delegates and committees were felicitated for their exemplary performances in recognition of their excellence in research, diplomacy, debate, leadership, and teamwork.
KARNITI MUN 2026 concluded on a memorable and inspiring note, reaffirming Pratap Public School, Sector 6, Karnal’s commitment to nurturing confident, compassionate, and globally aware leaders.
