Pratap Public School , sector 6 , celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit. The school campus was beautifully decorated with tri-colour flags, balloons and banners to mark the occasion. The event was graced by the benign presence of the school Vice- President Ms. Deepika Bhatia , Secretary Mr. Sanjay Bhatia and Director Students’ Welfare Mr. Prateek Bhatia along with other esteemed members of the management.
The dignitaries were welcomed with ornamental plants as a thoughtful gesture for a green future. The programme began with the ceremonial welcome address by the school Principal , Dr. Puja Waalia Maan . In her speech, Dr. Maan paid a tribute to the freedom fighters and emphasised the importance of unity, peace and hard work in building a stronger nation and inspired the students to contribute ,in their individual capacities , to the progress of the nation. Students presented a vibrant cultural programme that included a patriotic dance- drama and song. The performances were met with loud applause from the audience. In her speech, the chief guest , Architect, Ms. Karuna Narang, an alumna of the school and Founder and Principal Architect at Terra Incognito, Chandigarh , said that it was a great day and a proud moment for every Indian . Ms Narang spoke at length about hopes and dreams of those great souls and regretted that the common people are yet to realise the fruits of freedom . Ms. Narang stressed the need to cultivate the values upheld by the selfless freedom fighters.
The vibrant spirit of Janmashtami marking the birth of Lord Krishna was celebrated with enthusiasm and devotion . Dressed as little Kanhas and Radhas , the students of the primary section stole the show with their adorable performances and dances set to devotional songs. The event concluded with vote of thanks followed by singing of the national anthem, which echoed through the campus, reinforcing a collective sense of national pride.
