In a spirited celebration of nature and sustainability, Pratap Public School, Sec 6, observed Van Mahotsav with great enthusiasm, reinforcing the vital roles of trees in maintaining ecological balance.
The Principal Dr. Puja Waalia Maan addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of tree plantation . “Every tree we plant today is a promise for a greener tomorrow,“ the principal said in an inspiring speech.
The highlight of the event was a thematic dance drama, which depicted the dangers of deforestation, and the urgent need for conservation.
Informative speeches, songs dedicated to mother Earth added to the festive atmosphere.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest, Dr . Divya Sawhney , Deputy Civil Surgeon, Panipat, acknowledged the school initiative and urged everyone to take small yet meaningful steps towards protecting the environment.
Members of the management – Secretary , Mr. Sanjay Bhatia and Joint Secretary , Mrs. Poonam Bhatia , appreciated knowledge, innovation, and effort that the students offered in a vibrant celebration of creativity and academic engagement-an exhibition of holiday homework- that offered students a platform to present their work done over the summer break, turning routine assignments into impressive display.
In an inspiring initiative to promote holistic development, certificates were distributed to honour students who successfully completed various skill based courses during the summer vacation.
The principal Dr. Puja Waalia Maan applauded the efforts of the students and their willingness to utilise the vacation time productively. “Learning a new skill is not just about getting knowledge, but about building confidence, and discovering one’s hidden talent, “ said the principal during the ceremony.
The Van Mahotsav celebration concluded with a pledge by all students and staff to plant tree and take care of them . The event not only raised awareness, but also instilled a sense of responsibility among young learners towards nature.
