NO BAG DAY- VI, 06.04.2024

The Session’s first No Bag Day proved to be a fun- filled day as it provided hands on learning opportunities to the students of Class VI.

Students participated in various Club Activities- Pottery, Making Paper Bags and Envelopes, Threading the Needle, Spell Bee, Health and Wellness etc.

The students of Class VI displayed their concern about the benevolent ‘Mother Earth’ through posters and models made by them on 22nd April, 2024 i.e. Earth Day. Their enthusiasm and creativity could be seen while doing the activity.

With an intent to create awareness regarding the deteriorating environmental condition around Mother Earth, Earth Day was celebrated in form of special assembly in the school campus on 22 April, 2024 by the students of X D, under the guidance of Ms. Divya. A Radio Show on the theme ‘How to Make Earth Cleaner and Greener’ was staged. The show presented the contrasting conditions of 19th century Earth and 21st century Earth through their conversation. The ways to protect the planet from imminent decay were discussed in the show. The event concluded with a message to plant more and more trees.

The fourth Online International Student Exchange Program between Dongnae Horticulture High School in Busan, South Korea, and Pratap Public School in Sec 6 Karnal, India, was executed with great success on 24th April 2024,Wednesday.

Korean students shared their expertise in flower cultivation, offering valuable knowledge about techniques, best practices, and the cultural significance of various flowers in Korean horticulture. Indian students conducted yoga sessions, introducing Korean counterparts to the practice of yoga and its holistic benefits in daily life. This programme exemplified the power of digital platforms in facilitating meaningful cultural exchanges. By sharing of their knowledge and practices students from both schools developed a deeper appreciation for each other’s cultures.

A special acknowledgment is extended to Dr. Puja Walia Mann, Principal of Pratap Public School for her unwavering support and encouragement. Her leadership and commitment played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the exchange program and fostering a conducive environment for cross-cultural learning.

CBSE- Mission Life Style for Environment (LiFE)

The International Day for Biodiversity is observed on May 22, every year.

Today the Students of Class VIII enthusiastically embarked on exploratory visits to nearby gardens and natural reserves, aiming to raise awareness and appreciation for the rich variety of life on Earth. Guided tours were conducted by the Science teacher, Ms. Seema Singh who shared insights into the importance of preserving ecosystems and the role each organism plays in maintaining balance.

The school’s library curated a collection of books focusing on biodiversity, conservation. Students were encouraged to explore these resources and engage in reading sessions to deepen their knowledge. The sessions inspired students to take concrete actions towards biodiversity conservation, contributing towards a more sustainable and harmonious future.

लोकसभा या विधानसभा के चुनावों में शत- प्रतिशत भागीदारी, अभी भी दूर की कौड़ी है। आगामी चुनाव में लोगों की सकारात्मक सहभागिता हेतु हमारे विद्यार्थी *मतदाता प्रहरी* के रूप में उभर कर सामने आए। हिंदी अध्यापिका श्रीमती रेणु बाला के मार्गदर्शन में प्रताप पब्लिक विद्यालय सेक्टर -6 के कक्षा नौवीं,दसवीं व बारहवीं के छात्रों ने अभिनय के माध्यम से शिक्षा के उद्देश्यों को प्राप्त करने एवं सचेत जागरूक नागरिक का कर्तव्य निर्वहन हेतु *मतदान का महत्व* नाटक प्रस्तुत किया जिसमें बताया गया कि देश सर्वोपरि होता है।यह लोकतंत्र से चलता है। लोकतंत्र की गरिमा को बनाए रखने के लिए सभी देशवासी संकल्प करें कि आगामी लोकसभा चुनाव- 2024 के महापर्व में सक्रिय भागीदारी निभाएंगे। विद्यार्थियों ने अपरोक्ष भागीदारी निभाते हुए मतदाता जागरूकता की लौ जलाई और लोगों से अपील की कि वे अपने मताधिकार का प्रयोग सही दिशा में अवश्य करें।

To make the students aware about the issues related to the environment, an Online Slogan Writing Activity was held on the topic Save Environment by their science teacher, Ms. Mukta Manocha. The mesmerizing performance illuminated the harsh truths of social networking platforms, emphasizing their detrimental effects on the mental health of the youth. This compelling skit proved to be an eye-opening journey for the budding intellects.

हमारे बुजुर्ग हमारे घर की शान होते हैं ,क्योंकि इन्हीं के माध्यम से एक पीढ़ी के संस्कार दूसरी पीढ़ी को प्रेषित किए जाते हैं । परंतु कुछ घरों में इनका सम्मान प्रश्न चिन्ह बन गया है । इस समस्या को दर्शाने के लिए कक्षा आठवीं ‘स’ के विद्यार्थियों ने हिंदी अध्यापिका श्रीमती नीलम गाबा के निर्देशन में एक नाटक का मंचन किया। इस नाटक के माध्यम से विद्यार्थियों को यह सिखाने का प्रयास किया गया कि हम सबको अपने बुजुर्गों का सम्मान करना चाहिए।

KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS

Remembering our heroes on the victorious day, and we proudly acclaimed it as Kargil Vijay Diwas.

7 Haryana NCC Battalion, Karnal organised a cultural program. All the schools participated where cadets gave various performances. Cadets of Pratap Public School, Sector-6, Karnal presented a patriotic group dance remembering Kargil warriors. Their performance was appreciated by each one witnessing the event.

The International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem is celebrated every year on 26 July.

A highly informative and enriching session was delivered by the Science teacher Ms. Poonam Chawla and a video was shown to Class VIII students on “Conservation of Mangrove Ecosystems” aiming to raise awareness of the importance of Mangrove ecosystems as a “Unique, special and vulnerable ecosystem” and to promote solutions for their sustainable management, conservation and uses.

The sessions inspired the students to take concrete actions towards protecting and restoring Mangroves for ensuring the health and resilience of Coastal environments and Communities.

Van Mahotsav & Kargil Vijay Diwas Celebration

On 26 July 2024 Pratap Public School celebrated Van Mahostav and Kargil Vijay Diwas to keep the spirit of plantation and patroitism alive.The event commenced with a Green Ride which was flagged off by Our Special Guest Dr Ajay Khandwal, an alumuns of the host school and Our Worthy Principal Dr Puja Waalia Mann. In this ride, 100 cyclists ( NSS VOLUNTEERS) were engaged to distribute 150 saplings among people staying in the vicinity of school and 50 seedlings were given away to cubs & bulls. Alongside, a vibrant programme in the auditorium was conducted graced by the praiseworthy Chief Guest which commenced with a mellifluous song followed by a speech on Kargil Vijay Diwas. The event ended with the thought provoking address by the special invitee , subsequent to Tree Plantation Drive.

The workshop provided valuable insights into emerging career opportunities and the skills needed to thrive in the future job market. Senior students participated enthusiastically and the Principal, Dr Puja Waalia Mann appreciated the knowledge shared during the session.

World Water Conservation Day is observed all over the world to realise the importance of the declining water tables in the world .

Students of class 7th of Pratap Public School ,Sec 6 showed their concern for the scarcity of water and for this they used their left over water of water bottles to water school plants. They also presented a skit on the topic Conservation of Water.

These notable activities conducted by Mrs Seema Verma helped students in inculcating good habit of using water judiously.

To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, Pratap Public School Sector- 6 Karnal celebrated the 78th Independence Day with verve and vitality at the school auditorium on 14 August 2024 . The event was graced by the genial presence of the school alumnus, Dr Parul Narang, the School Vice President, Ms Deepika Bhatia , the School Joint Secretary, Ms Poonam Bhatia and the Principal Dr Puja Waalia Mann.The Programme commenced with a heart-stirring patriotic song mentored by Mr Virender .It was followed by a Dance Drama namely “Sardar Patel- Architect of Free India” which was prepared under the stewardship of Ms. Mansi and Mr. Rakesh. The event culminated with an exhibition in which students exhibited their creative ideas about Patriotism in the form of Slogan writing, Poster Making and Best Out of Waste. In her address, the Guest of Honour Dr Parul Narang motivated the students to be fair- minded, fearless and faithful.

She acquainted the students with the latest trends and choices available in India and abroad. The learners were enlightened with the NEP 2020 subject options.She motivated the students to be consistent workers to excel in life. Various subjects combinations available in future courses were discussed in detail. All in all, she made the grade 10 aspirants ready for the future journey to become the best in whatever course they select.

*Mock Youth Parliament: An Attempt to Nurture Leadership Qualities*

Students from Pratap Public School, Sec. 6, Karnal participated in the Mock Youth Parliament’s model debating sessions on 31 August 2024 . This creative initiative was the brainchild of the school’s principal, Dr. Puja Waalia Mann, who wanted to develop the students’ potential and quality to become the future leaders of the nation.The event was graced by the genial presence of the Guest of Honour, Mr Rajesh Choudhary( District Attorney, Panipat) and the revered members of Managing Committee of the School. Under the capable direction of Mrs. Sonia Munjal (PGT Political Science), over sixty students from grades IX to XII enacted a full session of the Parliament, including question hour, calling attention motion, and legislation. The discussion on the latest issues during the session really fascinated the audience and led to thunderous applause.

*NCC Enrollment – Senior Division and Wing 2024*

7 Haryana Batallion NCC, Karnal conducted new enrollment for Senior Division cadets at Pratap Public School Sector-6, Karnal. Battalion Havaldar Major Satyawan and Hawaldar Manhattan Nath from the battalion took the test class XI students, which was further divided into a physical fitness test and a general knowledge test. Boys and girls have gone through various physical activities to prove their physical endurance, and they have given tough competition to each other. Throughout the test, Lieutenant Richa Sharma (ANO) was present on the ground. Dr. Puja Waalia Mann (Principal), congratulated the students on their efforts and encouraged them for their new start in a student’s life.
